Safety Associate of the Month – June
July 8, 2013Each month, Facility Logistic Services (FLS) recognizes and congratulates a Safety Associate of the Month. FLS takes great pride and satisfaction in highlighting the efforts of their employees who meet the criteria for distinction among their peers.
Safety is a valued concept and vital part of doing business. FLS appreciates the professionalism and commitment to safety that all of our employees exercise daily while performing their jobs.
FLS will continue to acknowledge employees who go above and beyond in the area of safety, and show appreciation to them by presenting them with a $25.00 gift card.
Below are the Facility Logistic Services’ Safety Associates of the Month for June.
Kory Hermes, Neenah, WI Nonwovens Facility
Kory Hermes displayed safe-minded behavior this month by proactively escalating a situation. She noticed an unsecure guard on part of her asset and immediately sought help by placing a phone call and requesting assistance right away. She also caught a potential loss when she did a double spot check and discovered safety guards left inside the equipment. She is constantly in tune with what is going on around her and knows how to safely and responsibly handle situations as they arise. She exercises her 3 obligations and has no issue speaking out on issues she feels unsafe. Kory’s safety goal is to return home to her kids every day! Thank you Kory!!
Pam Stepp, Lexington, NC Facility
Pam Stepp’s commitment to safety has been acknowledged and applauded through her teammates. Her practice of keeping an eye on safety by implementing her 3 obligations commitment has shown her teammates she cares. She has reminded teammates to blow their horn, use cones and make it a habit to wear your PPE’s. Her safety goal is “to return home safe”. Her challenge for her fellow associates is to identify and define any safety hazards in the warehouse. Thank you Pam for all the dedication you put in to our safety values here at FLS; also for implementing your 3 safety obligations; and thank you for helping us keep our team safe!!!
Toney Zachary, Berkeley, NC Facility
The June 2013 FLS-Berkeley 3 Safety Obligations/Safety Person of the Month has played an integral part in the Safety Culture at FLS-Berkeley. He identified an issue with the bump guards, not being held securely with Velcro. Not only did he identify this issue, but he was also proactive and he replaced the Velcro strapping, with metal strapping. Toney went out of his way to apply “Safety Interdependence-Self Sustain Culture,” by identifying the issue and resolving it himself. He values safety and is determined to ensure that everyone goes home safe, every day/night. Please join me in congratulating Toney Zachary, our June 2013 3 Safety Obligations/Safety Person of the Month. Congratulations Toney and thank you for your contributions.
